The Most Important Thing I learned in The GNML Online Program?

The most important thing i learned in my entire participation was how we can use social media for social change under the ''Ushahidi case study''.  Realizing the impact the Ushahidi project caused inspired me that i can also use social media for social change.Through Facebook or twitter, we can make a big difference in the life of others.

Most Rewarding Experience of my GNML Online Program

The most rewarding experience of my GNML online program was being part of it as a whole. I learnt to write blogs for social change, i learnt to use WordPress though i didn't use it for any of the sessions. learnt to create a YouTube video to inspire social change and i also made a lot of friends both on facebook and on twitter. I have learnt how an online class look like. I am ever grateful for joining the Global New Media Lab Online Class.

Most Challenging Experience Of My GNML Online Proram

Session #1 was the most challenging experience of my whole GNML online course. It was my first ever online class and i wasn't familiar with the site. I had problems with the site, i didn't know if it was form my pc or the site. when i messaged them there was no reply so i was get a little frustrated. But hopefully everything went on well and it became fun.

What Comes Into Your Mind When Your Hear the Word ''MUSLIM''?

Many of us live in countries where there are a lot of muslims.some of us have no idea who a muslim or Islam is and some have misconceptions about muslims.
Indeed there are some people who do not know there are muslims around them because of the mentality they have about muslims.Should another student shout on the hallway at school that ''a muslim is coming'',there are some students who will be trying to hide in their lockers.WHY? all because we have no idea or bad thoughts about muslims and Islam as a  whole.
When the word ''muslim is mentioned the first thing that come into people mind is ''terrorism''.I want you to know that muslims are not terrorist though some terrorist are muslims. There are also terrorists of different religious backgrounds.
Please Islam does not teach terrorism. When a muslim meets a brother, he greets salaam which means peace.
i did not include so mush information cuz i want to know what you think.feel  free to comment on what you think about muslims.thank you.

I thought we go to school so that we can learn to be able to fit into the society.Knowledge is not the only reason why we go to school.some people actually get the knowledge and leave the sense behind.
One Friday, our chemistry teacher could not come to school so he left a movie for us to watch and answer  a set questions on it.The movie was about how the atomic bomb came into being.Friday was also  the day that many people were talking about the US ambassador who was killed in Libya.
The discussion was actually going on while we watched the movie.I was serious watching the movie because I did not want to get any of the answers wrong. It got to a point that our invigilator said ''US was the first country to manufacture atomic bomb'' which was also part of the studies.
I was surprised when a student said ''WHY DON'T WE DROP SOME IN THOSE COUNTRIES THAT ARE KILLING OUR PEOPLE??''
I was like whaaaaaaaaaat??  why should a  high school student have that mentality? if all those countrie possesing weapons start dropping them on one another will the world be a place worth living? I actually did not say anything because the day was hot and i did not want to provoke anyone's anger.I'm planning to actually see him in person and let him know that, a person should not think that way.A rational and educated person should rather think of how we will be able to solve the problems that already exist.
Dealing with such people,i think, will not be an easy task but ''WE CAN DO IT''
